Automatically making Bluesky posts from articles I save on Evernote

Ok, so this is really bizarre making a post inside blogger. I started using blogger back in 2001. It's how my site spudart.org got a blog section. I started blogging on September 28, 2001. And I've been blogging every since. That's 23 years of blogging.

And now I'm back on blogger. Well, kinda. I'm just setting up this blog, spudreads, to capture what I read. It's going to be an automated thing. What I'm really trying to capture is getting what I read to autopost to a Bluesky account. For that, I need an RSS feed. That's where blogger comes in.

Here's the workflow in my mind.

  1. Save article to Evernote, using web clipper.
  2. IFTTT takes that article URL and posts it to Blogger. (If there is not a direct Evernote to Blogger option, I will need to make Evernote email the URL to a gmail account. And then have gmail post it to Blogger).
  3. Take the RSS feed from Blogger and hook that up to a Bluesky account. I already know how to write the PHP that will take a RSS feed and post it to Bluesky.
Why do I want to post all the articles I read on Bluesky? I really don't know why. I'm not even going to post it to my main Bluesky account. Just some account probably like spudreads.bsky.social. I've done stuff like this back in 2010 with Twitter and the @spudreads account. Nobody every really responded to anything I've posted to @spudreads, so I'm not sure what the point is. But I like making connections like this.

  1. What might make more sense is if I take a monthly roundup of all the article I read. Or maybe weekly. And then make a blog post.

Heck, I could also take all the stuff I upvote on Reddit too. There's so much I consume, but never do anything with. Although, I have done this with Reddit in the past. I used to write a "what i learned this week". Which was fun. But I didn't like how those articles would dominate in my search results. Anytime I look someting up, those "what i learned this week" would be one of the results, just beause there's so much packed into every one of those posts. I did that for maybe two months and then stopped.
